Diana Hara is originally from Dallas, Texas but did not begin her journey into becoming a jewelry designer until she and her husband were transferred to Tucson, Arizona after a corporate merger.  Diana’s passion for jewelry is fueled by her innate love of gems and minerals and her desire to share the beauty she finds in nature with as many like-minded individuals as possible. Although she has always felt a natural attraction to all things that sparkle and shine, Diana is as surprised as anyone to find herself following her heart, spending her days in her studio bringing into form all the inspirations that come into her head.  Originally a software engineer, Diana began making jewelry on a lark in 1990.  She signed up for a beginning casting class at the neighborhood parks and recreation center at the urging of her grandmother.  It was just a ruse to get her into town and share dinner one night a week!  But after creating her first ring using the lost wax casting process, Diana was hooked.  She continued taking courses and making jewelry for herself, family, and friends as a hobby for many years.  By 2004 the temptation was too great, and Diana decided to change careers.  She said goodbye to the engineering world to pursue her passion for creating beautiful baubles.  Through all these years, Diana has created many different types of jewelry, but over time her signature style has begun to emerge.  It can best be described as southwest with a twist – delicate antiqued silver work using bold colors - typical southwest gemstones mixed with other non-traditional minerals.  Diana designs from the heart, always creating jewelry that she loves to wear herself, never following trends.  Her intention is to create jewelry that makes those who collect her pieces feel unique, special and beautiful.  Diana is a member of the Old Pueblo Lapidary Club and the US Faceter’s Guild.
