Paddie Flaherty has been a resident of Tucson since 1975. Once her children were in school, Paddie fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming an artist and started taking lessons from a local art instructor. Her education in art is on-going with Tucson instructors and workshops. She has received numerous awards and ribbons for her art, and has works in private and corporate collections throughout the United States, Canada and Great Britain. One of her favorite ribbons is the "The People's Choice" awarded her at the Pima County Fairgrounds
.Her love of art is depicted by her attention to detail and her favorite subjects to paint are flowers, Indian artifacts and animals.
"Painting has given me a whole new way of seeing. There is beauty in everything around us and I try to capture it on canvas in anticipation that the viewer will also see the beauty". |
